Georgetown House of Strings was previously known as Excel Art Trading, which was started in 2000 by Mr.Lai Kong Loke, a cellist graduated from Germany. The shop is located in Georgetown, Penang’s historic center and fort, a beautiful city that blends the old and new. We promote our own quality handcrafted instruments (Excel Strings) and accessories for advanced music students and professional musicians, and also the Distributor of Jargar Strings and Thomastik Infeld Strings. We provide excellent after sales service, organize exhibitions for vintage instruments, including instruments by Italian makers and hold workshops conducted by violin makers(on instrument care and violin making). We handle local and international purchasers. Musicians and customers are welcome to test our instruments and enquire.
